Barakamon Episode 11

東京にいます (訳: よせおっ)
Tokyo ni imasu (Yoseo)
― I Am in Tokyo

This subtitle is different than usual, words within brackets is dialectal.
The original form is よそにいる(yoso ni iru).

よそ(other place)に(in)いる(be) → よそにおる(yoso ni oru) → よせおっ(yoseo)

The subtitle of episode 6 was "よそんもん(Yosonmon: Guys From Tokyo)."
For Naru and the islanders, the other place means Tokyo.

●とっくの昔に届いてるよ。
　Tokku no mukashi ni todoiteru yo
― It arrived age ago.

Barakamon Episode 10

だっちいこで (訳: みんなで行こう)
Dacchi ikode (Minna de ikou)
― Let's go together

While Sensei was on the phone, Naru and Hina were singing a children's song with motion.
The folksong "でんでらりゅうば(dendera ryuu ba)" has been handed down in Nagasaki Prefecture.
On the lyrics, "来る(kuru: come)" is used to mean "行く(iku: go)" in Nagasaki dialect.

Barakamon Episode 9

おけがまくっちした (訳: 大怪我しそうになった)
Okega Makucchishita (Ookega shisouni natta)

●鳴華院〆
　Narukain shime
― Narukain deadline

"～院(in)" means a name of an art exhibition.

"〆(shime)" looks like a symbol, but is a special Kanji.
It often is written over the sealed flap of an envelope.
Also, it used to mean 締め, 絞め, and 占め.

Barakamon Episode 8

オンデ　(念仏踊り)
Onde （Nenbutsu odori)
― Buddist chanting and dancing

Do you know what お盆(obon) is?
It is a Japanese Buddhist custom to welcome back the spirits of ancestors who return to their homes around the 15th of August.
I'd say it is similar to Halloween.
It is intriguing that there is a wide regional variation even in the same Japan.
Now, we can learn some names of insects in this episode.

●蓮華
　renge
― china spoon

"蓮華" originally means lotus.
Because china spoon looks like a petal of lotus, it is called so.

Barakamon Episode 7

ひさんいを  訳: 高級な魚
Hisanio (koukyuu na sakana)

I've given long-winded explanations of dialect.

●自業自得だろ。
　Jigou-jitoku daro
― Serves you right.

●旅行先までインドアなのか。
　Ryokou saki made indoor nano ka
― Guess He wants to be holed-up even on a trip...

  Tatemae teki ni ha
― For publicity's sake.

●こうやって爪楊枝でほじくって食べます。
  kouyatte tsumayouji de hojikutte tabemasu
― You dig it out with a needle like this, and eat it.

爪楊枝 exactly means toothpick.

It's amazing that Naru can eat it raw...
