― While you're there, why don't you circle the basin?

It's also called お鉢巡り(Ohachi-meguri).
There are two opinions about the origin of this term.
  1. The summit comprises 8(八, hachi) peaks called 八神峰(Hasshinpou).
  2. The crater lookes like 鉢(hachi: a basin).

●火口をぐるっと一周するの。
 Kakou wo gurutto isshuu suru no
― You should go around once before coming down.

It is the custom to go clockwise, which is derived from Buddhism.

●1時間半から2時間くらいで周れるから行ってみれば?
 Ichijikan han kara nijikan kurai de mawareru kara itte mireba
― It normally takes between one and a half to two hours, so why not give it a try?

●お弁当美味しいですね。/ 豚汁も!
 Tonjiru mo / Tonjiru mo
― This lunch is great, isn't it? / So is the pork miso soup!

●まだまだ歩くからしっかりエネルギー補給しとこう。

There was formerly the custom to throw coins into the crater as offering.

This office is open during the summertime, from mid-July to late August.

●何で嫌な顔しないで一緒に居てくれるんだろう?
 Nande iyana kao shinaide issho ni itekurerun darou
― How's she so happy when she's stuck here with me?

嫌な顔をする(iyana kao wo suru): look displeased

●こんなに迷惑をかけてるのに。
 Konna ni meiwaku wo kaketeru noni
― I'm the one holding her back.

●剣ヶ峰、3776m、日本の最高峰です。

― I've had enough of these feelings...
