墨絵師というシガキの夢はトーフプレス機で右手を失ってから、大方ついえ狂ってしまった。

― Afer losing his right arm to a tofu press, ink-wash painter Shigaki's dreams largely dried up and went awry.

保障でサイバネ義手に替えられるまではまだ救いがあった。

― Up until he got a cybernetic arm with the settlement money, there was still  salvation for him.

It's written as "面頬" in kanji.
