A cliched greeting used when meeting a person for the first time.
●すごくありふれてるとも言えますね。

― But you could also say I'm extremely common.

思い上がった: arrogant, pretentious

Kondo koso matomo na kuimon ga arun darou na
― There'll be decent foof this time, right?
●どうやって生きていくか、それが問題だ。
Douyatte ikite iku ka sorega mondai da
― How to live my life? That is the question.
You know, a line from Hamlet "to be or not to be, that is the question."
That is translated in Japanese as "生きるべきか、死ぬべきか、それが問題だ".
●死ぬことばっかり考えて頭ん中がそれに占拠されてしまうのが嫌なんだ。
Shinu kto bakkari kangaete atama n naka ga sore ni senkyo sarete shimau no ga iya nanda
― I don't want to think so much about dying that it's the only thing that occupies my mind.

取るに足らない: worthless, trivial

Fuzakeru na Ame dakara tte amaku mite moraccha komarun dayo
― Stop candying around! Just because we look sweet doesn't means we are!
甘く見る: take lightly, underestimate ≒ 舐める
●舐めたこと言うんじゃねぇ!
Nameta koto iun ja nee
― Don't treat us with contempt.
Literally means "lick", so witty.

Barakamon Episode 8
○先生って虫とり舐めちょるよね。
Sensei tte mushitori namechoru yone
― Sensei's not takin' beetle catchin' seriously.
●こんな奇妙な生き物は初めて見たよ。
Konna kimyouna ikimono ha hajimete mita yo
― This is the first time I've ever seen such a peculiar creature.
●ここでは秩序を乱すものをそのままにしておくわけにはいかない。
Koko de ha chitsujo wo midasu mono wo sono mama ni shite oku wake ni ha ikanai
― We cannot leave those who upset our order alone.
●ここで消滅させていただく。
Koko de shoumetsu sasete itadaku
― We will terminate you now.
●あなたの葬列に決まっているでしょ。
Anata no souretsu ni kimatte iru desyo
― It's your funeral procession, of course.
●この先にある惑星リンボという星からものすごく巨大な生命反応が検出されています。
Kono saki ni aru wakusei rinbo to iu hoshi kara monosugoku kyodaina seimeihannou ga kenshutsu sarete imasu
― I have detected an extremely strong life form on Planet Limbo up ahead.
I'd say most Japanese hardly know the meaning of the word "limbo".
We often hear a word "limbo dance", though.
●またお前らのガセネタじゃねぇのかよ?
Mata omaera no gaseneta ja nee no kayo
― You guys aren't giving me bogus information again, are you?
"ガセ" derives from "お騒がせ(osawagase: fuss)" and were originally used as jargon by "的屋(tekiya: peddler)".
●背に腹は代えられませんから。
Se ni hara ha kaerare masen kara
― You have to do what you have to do.
The proverb literally means "The belly cannot be replaced by the back. / It is better to be stabbed in the back instead of the stomach."
●美味しいもん食べてから餓死したいです。
Oishii mon tabete kara gashi shitai desu
― I don't want to starve to death until I've eaten something good.
●これは暗黒星雲がすぐそこに迫ってて危険です。
Kore ha ankoku seiun ga sugu sono ni semattete kiken desu
― A dark nebula is coming right at us! It's dangerous!
●納得していただけましたか?
Nattoku shite itadake mashita ka
― Do you accept that you're dead now?

― Mm, perfect...
●ここでもう終点か?
Koko de mou shuuten ka
― Is this already the last stop?
●こんな幽霊みたいなやつらばっかりの世界なんてうんざりなんだよ。
Konna yuurei mitai na yatsura bakkari no sekai nante unzari nanda yo
― I'm tired of this planet filled with ghosts.
●でも彼らは自分たちのつくった文明のせいで勝手に滅んでしまった。
Demo karera ha jibun tachi no tsukutta bunmei no sei de katteni horonde shimatta
― But they destroyed themselves with their own civilization.
●でも死者たちの魂は磁力がある。
Demo shisha tachi no tamashii ha jiryoku ga aru
― But the souls of the dead have a certain magnetism.
●別の次元に行くことができるかも。
Betsu no jigen ni iku koto ga dekiru kamo
― but you may be able to go to another dimension.
As slang, we say "三次元(3D)" to mean our real world and "二次元(2D)" to mean a fictious world such as anime, manga, or video game.
●こんな時に寝てるなんて大物っつうかなんつうか。
Konna toki ni neteru nante oomono ttsuuka nantsuuka
― He must be some big shot to be sleeping at a time like this.
The final scene has different interpretations.
At any rate the line "Alive or dead, I'm me" could be summarized into.
