I hear Mount Fuji is a place where foreigners want to go the most in Japan.
It was registered as a World Heritage Site last year.
I have climbed to the fifth station by bus and foot.
●御来光登山？
Goraikou tozan
― You climed a mountain to watch the sunrise there?
御来光: sunrise viewed from the top of a high mountain
●真っ暗な中、ライトで光の列ができていて。
Makkura na naka raito de hikari no retsu ga dekite ite
― In the darkness, our flashligfhts' glow created a column of light.
●その中をひたすら登っていくんだ。
Sono naka wo hitasura nobotte ikun da
― In that column, I was climbing, determined.
●下は一面の雲。
Shita ha ichimen no kumo
― Below us, clouds as far as eye can see.
一面の～: expanse of, a sheet of

●上は満天の星空。
Ue ha manten no hosizora
― Above us a starry sky.
The phrase "満天の星空" is usually used, but it is a tautology.
I think most Japanese don't notice that.
As 天 is equivalent to 空, to be accurate, "満天の星" is right.
●一緒に行った友達が途中でバテちゃってね。
Issho ni itta tomodachi ga tochuude batechatte ne
― The friend I was with became exhausted halfway.

●体力のある奴だったんだけど、ペース配分を間違えたみたいでね。
Tairyoku no aru yatsu dattan dake do pace haibun machigaeta mitai de ne
― He was pretty fit, but I guess he didn't set his pace right.

Are ha isshou wasurerare nai omoide da na
― It was something unforgettable.
[Literal transl.]
→ It is a memory that I will not forget for the rest of my life.
●ちょっと前まではあれだけ嫌がっていたのに。
Chotto mae made ha are dake iyagatte ita noni
― To think you were so reluctant until just recently.
●じゃあ善は急げ、今から富士山登るのに必要な道具見に行こう。
Jaa zen ha isoge, ima kara fujisan noboru noni hitsuyouna dougu mini ikou
― Then let's hurry and see what we need.
善は急げ is a proverb.
It means "Now is the time to act."
⇔急がば回れ (proverb)
Isoga ba maware
― Make haste slowly.
●夜登るんだからヘッドライトが必要でしょ。
Yoru noborun dakara heddoraito ga hitsuyou desho
― Since we'l be climbing at night, we need a headlamp.
ヘッドライト: headlight
It is a familiar adopted loan word.
●外灯があるわけじゃないんだよ。
Gaitou ga aru wake ja nain da yo
― It's not like there will be any lights there.
外灯: outdoor light
●懐中電灯じゃだめ？
Kaichuu-dentou ja dame
― Can't we just use a normal flashlight?
●山の気温は標高が100m上がるごとに0.6度ずつ下がります。
Yama no kion ha hyoukou ga 100m agaru goto ni 0.6 do zutsu sagari masu
― Temperature in the mountains decreases by 0.6℃ for every 100m increase in elevation.
●富士山やっぱメジャーだね～！
Fujisan yappa meja- dane
― Mt. Fuji's really popular!
メジャー: major
It is a familiar adopted loan word too.
●軍手は必需品だよ。
Gunte ha hitsujuhin da yo
― Gloves are a must.
"マストアイテム" is an English term coined in Japan having the same meaning of "必需品."

●ルーメン値が大きいほど明るい。
Ru-men chi ga ookii hodo akarui
― The more lumens, the brighter it is.
I heard this word for the first time.
●携帯が通じるからまめに連絡もするよ。
Keitai ga tsuujiru kara mameni renraku mo suru yo
― Reception's there, so I'll make sure to call you.
まめに: often, frequently
●これは絶対折れそうもないわね。
Kore ha zettai ore sou mo nai wa ne
― She won't back down from this.
